Respect the National Sovereignty of States: Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition policy for signing onto statements or campaigns

1. The Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition may sign on to letters or campaigns regarding issues clearly aligned with the Coalition’s mission of respect for peace and non-interference in the national sovereignty and internal affairs of countries.

2. Consistent with our objective of defending Nicaragua’s national sovereignty, the Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition will not sign on to statements or campaigns which demand that any sovereign state perform specific tasks. The only exception is when the targeted states have a history of imperialist action against other peoples and states, as do the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other leading NATO countries and partners, such as Australia and Japan.

3. The Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition may also endorse letters and campaigns aimed at protecting the rights of activists and social movements in the aforementioned imperialist countries to exercise free speech and their democratic rights to peacefully advocate for a more just world.

Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition

The Nicaragua Solidarity Coalition is an international coalition of organizations and individuals in solidarity with Nicaragua, supporting its sovereignty and affirming its achievements. We are not affiliated with any governmental entity of any nation. We provide accurate, verifiable information and other resources about Nicaragua, and we work to counter misinformation about the country disseminated by the media, public events, and other sources. We share information from a variety of sources, including our personal experiences, in light of Nicaraguan history and current conditions. We publicize activities organized by our members, including international delegations to Nicaragua and webinars with knowledgeable speakers from inside and outside the country. We welcome others to join us.
